“The Ultimate Fighting Championship® organisation hits the O2 Arena, London, for the fourth time in three years on Saturday, October 16, as UFC 120 assembles three of the best British fighters all on one card to take on the world’s best.

In the main event, British superstar Michael ‘the Count’ Bisping collides with Japanese judo master Yoshihiro Akiyama. But first, emerging talent John ‘Hitman’ Hathaway will look to scalp another contender when he takes on American Mike ‘Quicksand’ Pyle; then welterweight title challenger Dan ‘the Outlaw’ Hardy returns to face former WEC world champion Carlos ‘The Natural Born Killer’ Condit.

Tickets for UFC 120 are priced at £50, £75, £100, £125, £175 and £250 and will go on sale via ticketmaster.co.uk and the O2 Arena box office to UFC Fight Club members at 10am on Thursday July 22, UFC Newsletter subscribers and O2 subscribers will get their chance from 10am on Friday July 23 before tickets go on sale to the general public at 10am on Saturday.” (Source: UFC.com)

I had the pleasure of rolling with an amazing person yesterday: Tyler Ransom. This 9-year-old super star was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome at a young age, but it doesn’t stop him from preforming with top athletes. There is no cure for Nephrotic Syndrome or FSGS, but Tyler hopes that this video will encourage people to go to his website and learn more about both diseases and how you can support the effort to find a cure. First, Happy New Years! 2009 was a great year for MMA and the UFC, and I have no doubt that 2010 will be even bigger! I’ve taken a bit of a holiday break to spend some quality time with family and friends, but I’m back in the gym now.

I am pleased to say that UFC 111 has been officially announced! Been waiting for this for awhile. I will be updating you with lots of video blogs and pictures of my training camp for this one, and I promise, you will NOT be disappointed.

Another rainy night in Manchester, England has produced another UK champion: Dan “the Outlaw” Hardy.

The 27 year-old Nottingham native entered the ring on Saturday night with one thing on his mind: Mike “Quick” Swick. Relatively evenly matched, these two strikers were battling it out to move on for a possible belt contention, yet to be officially announced.

Hardy surprised international fans, dominating the fight, and walking straight through the once powerful striking attempts of Swick. Swick’s strikes seemed to have little effect on a powerful and focused Hardy who returned lethal counters rocking his opponent time and time again. The third round saw some ground and pound action with a sharp elbow from Hardy which produced a gash on the back of Swick’s head, shaking him for the rest of the fight. Unanimous decision was awarded to Hardy, making him victorious against another opponent thought to be more skilled by the MMA world.

Hardy and his team, Rough House, had a fruitful night with wins by teammates Ross Pearson, Andre Winner, and Nick Osipczak.

An article in the UK’s Independent newspaper, orginally about wives and girlfriends of fighters, has spawned a heated debate between readers and fighters. One reader commented on the story, calling MMA “uncivilized” and its fighters “uneducated.” Dan has responded with quite the explanation for the sport, citing its ancient foundations and historical importance, and illustrating its sanctioned and organized state.
