“The Outlaw” documentary by Ian McFarland

By now, a lot of you have already seen this, but I haven’t really had a chance to talk about it since my fight.

Director, Ian McFarland (http://mcfarlandandpecci.com/) is a personal friend of mine. And even before I met him, I was listening to his band, Blood for Blood. A lot of you have seen the tattoos on the sides of my legs, which is their logo. Their music is always part of my training camp playlist motivation.

Ian has an amazing knack for capturing, on film, the truth behind a person, their motivation, and their reason for existence. We spent many hours just having frank conversations about what drives a fighter and the emotions involved in the fight game. Nobody likes to lose a fight, but someone has to. That person has been me for four fights. This documentary is a reflection of a fighter who was feeling the pressure of that.

At the end of the night, when your fans are smiling and your hand is raised in that cage, it’s all worth it. And that is how I felt this past Saturday. Thank you to the fans and to Ian for being a part of my life this year. I wouldn’t change it for anything.
